I welcome you to our office located at 154 Hughes Road, Suite 3, Grass Valley, CA 95945. After practicing for 15 years at the K Mart shopping center, we realized that we had simply outgrown our small space and decided to move to a larger facility. Come by and see our wide range of frames and sunglasses. We are also the exclusive dealer for Minima in Nevada County. We are proud to be Nevada County's original Oakley RX dealer. Recent additions to our sunglass assortment include Ray Ban and Oakley.

​The original practice was started  by Dr. Alexander Blake in 1980. I purchased his practice in 1993 and I have been practicing optometry since then in Grass Valley for over 25 years. I attended UC Davis and graduated in 1980 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. After spending a few years traveling and working I returned to school and graduated from the University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry in 1988. I practiced at a number of various locations between 1988 and 1993 including private optometry and ophthalmology offices in Missouri and California before my family moved to Grass Valley in 1993. I am licensed to practice in Missouri, Colorado and California. 

​I spend my free time with my wife enjoying bicycling, camping and hiking in the summer and we are avid snow skiers in the winter. We also enjoy traveling overseas to Australia or Europe whenever we get the chance. My son and his wife are both music and choir teachers in Minneapolis. They are both the proud parents of a new baby daughter. My daughter is a legal assistant at a finance/ law firm in Manhattan, New York.
